About us

TÓTH GEARBOX Ltd. started as a private enterprise back in 1973, when Mihály Tóth (currently a consultant of the company) started turning metal parts with his machines in the premises of his own family house and milling for manufacturing companies and car parts dealers of that time. He has continuously expanded its machine park with gearhobbing, gearcutting and tooth grinding machines capable of gearing according to production needs. He was the first individual in the country to purchase a Klingelnberg palloid gearhobbing machine, which was used to produce low noise bevel – toothed gear pairs for differential drives.

From the 80’s, he was able to procure CNC lathes and a Niles gear grinding machine. For internal splining broaching machines and Fellows type cutting wheel machines were put into operation.

In addition to universal milling machines, CNC-controlled milling machines later began to operate. The company used a Höfler H1000 tooth profile grinder to produce large railway gears.

The list of thousands of products manufactured over the decades has been supplemented since the year 2000 by racing gearboxes. With his technical, manufacturing and racing experience, Mihály Tóth, who has achieved many outstanding domestic and international results in car racing, has made easy to shift and durable gearboxes for many motorsport teams.
